Auto Shrink Wrap Machine for Bottles, Cans and Trays
An auto shrink wrap machine takes bottles straight from the filling line, groups them into the pack pattern and wraps the bundle in LDPE film. Sorting, film wrapping, sealing, shrinking and cooling run in one automatic cycle, so no operator loads the packs by hand.
JNDTECH builds two models. The JND-150A runs 8 to 15 packs per minute at 20 kW, and the JND-200A runs 15 to 20 packs per minute at 30 kW. Both handle PET bottles, glass bottles, cans and trays within a pack size of 200 to 530 mm long, 110 to 350 mm wide and 70 to 360 mm high.
How the Automatic Shrink Wrap Sequence Works
- Infeed. Bottles arrive from the filling line on a conveyor and are counted into the pack pattern.
- Sorting. Guide rails and a collator square the bottles into rows, so every pack leaves with the same shape.
- Film wrapping. The bundle passes through the film unit, where LDPE film is drawn over and under the pack and the ends are folded in.
- Sealing and cutting. A constant temperature sealer closes the film and trims the edge. A fixed sealing temperature keeps the seam clear and the edge neat.
- Shrink tunnel. The wrapped pack moves through a hot air tunnel. The film shrinks tight around the bottles and locks them into the pack.
- Cooling and discharge. A cooling section sets the film before the pack leaves the machine, so the bundle holds its shape in storage.
The controller runs the cycle on a PLC program, so pack length, film feed and tunnel temperature are set once and repeated on every pack.

Auto or Semi-Auto Shrink Wrap Machine
The difference is who does the loading. On the JND-150A and JND-200A the bottles are counted and grouped by the machine itself, so the line runs unattended from the filling machine to the shrink tunnel. On a semi-auto shrink wrap machine one operator places each pack on the conveyor by hand and the machine does the wrapping and shrinking.
Choose the automatic machine when the filling line runs continuously and the pack pattern stays the same through the shift. Choose the semi-automatic machine when output is moderate, the pack pattern changes often, or the budget and floor space do not stretch to a full line.
Film, Pack Sizes and Bottle Types
The machine runs LDPE shrink film from 30 to 150 um. Thickness follows the load: heavier glass bottles need a thicker film, while light PET trays run on a thinner gauge. The tunnel is set to the film, so the same machine runs different film grades without a rebuild.
Four things decide whether a pack fits. Pack length is 200 to 530 mm, width 110 to 350 mm, height 70 to 360 mm, and the JND-200A takes a pack up to 600 x 400 x 350 mm. Within that envelope the machine handles PET bottles, glass bottles, cans and cartons in bundles, and it is used in bottled water, beverage, food, medicine and chemical plants. Bundles are ready for storage, and a robot palletizer can stack them straight onto pallets.
