Product Description

5 Gallon Filling Machine for 18.9L (5GAL) Bottles

The JNDTECH JND100 series is a 5 gallon filling machine, also called a 5 gallon water filling machine, that washes, fills and caps 18.9L (5GAL) bottles in one pass. The same frame covers 120, 300 and 450 BPH, so a water station can start at 120 BPH and move up without changing how the machine is operated. Washing, filling and capping sit in a single monobloc under micro-computer control. Bottle size is fixed at Ф270×490×Ф56 mm and the cap at Ф58×40 mm, the standard 5 gallon barrel used across Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

How the Washing, Filling and Capping Sequence Works

Each bottle follows the same three steps inside one machine:

  1. Washing. Bottles are inverted onto the washing nozzles. High-pressure jets rinse the inside of the barrel, and the number of washing heads sets how long the bottle stays under the jets.
  2. Filling. The bottle moves to the filling heads, where treated water is metered in. Filling stops at the set volume, and a drip tray keeps water off the machine frame.
  3. Capping. The capping heads press the Ф58×40 mm cap onto the neck. The cap tray holds caps in position so each one seats square.

Head counts are set at order, and they are the main reason two machines on the same frame differ in output. A 120 BPH unit runs up to 3 filling heads and 1 capping head, while the 450 BPH unit runs up to 6 washing positions and 2 filling and capping heads.

Three Protection Functions Built into the Control System

The control panel carries three automatic shut-offs. All three are mechanical safeguards rather than software alarms:

  • Leakage and short-circuit protection. On detecting a power leak or short circuit, the machine cuts the motor automatically. This matters in barrel-filling rooms, where water and electricity share the same floor.
  • Low air pressure protection. When incoming air pressure drops to 0.5 MPa or below, the machine stops on its own. Running below that pressure distorts the cap and produces leaking barrels.
  • Low water level protection. When the tank level falls below the liquid level switch, the machine stops automatically, which keeps the pump from running dry and burning out the seal.

All three models share the same bottle size, cap size, air pressure and power supply, and they differ only in output, rated power, head count, weight and footprint. Dimension is length × width × height with the machine assembled.

Options You Can Add at Order

Five additions are available when your water or your market asks for them:

  • Hot tank heating. Heats the wash water so the washing stage lifts oil and dust film more effectively than a cold rinse.
  • Bottle external washing. Washes the outside of the barrel as well as the inside, which matters for barrels returning from distribution with dust on the surface.
  • Cap washing. Rinses caps before they are pressed on, useful where caps are stored in open trays.
  • Cap counting. Counts the caps fed to the capping heads, so a plant can track output and cap consumption per shift.
  • Manual and machine control. Lets the operator switch between automatic cycle and manual control for setup or single-bottle work.

Options are built into the machine at the factory. Adding them later means modifying the frame, piping and control panel on site, which costs more than specifying them in the original order.

Matching Units for a Complete Barrel Water Line

A 120 to 450 BPH filling machine covers the middle of a barrel water plant, but bottles, caps and treated water still have to reach it. A PET 5 gallon bottle blow molding machine produces the barrels on site, so the plant does not depend on buying bottles from outside. A commercial RO treatment system supplies the treated water, sized against the hourly demand of the filling machine rather than the storage tank volume. A treatment system that is too small becomes the bottleneck as soon as the filling machine speeds up. For the full sequence from treatment to palletizing, see our 5 gallon water filling line.

Applications

The JND100 series serves barrel water plants and regional bottlers, water stations and community outlets, and office, factory, school, hospital and hotel supply rooms with on-site filling. It also fits small specialty water brands running 3 gallon and 5 gallon formats, where output is steady but a fully automatic rotary line is more capacity than the volume justifies.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the 120, 300 and 450 BPH models?

Head count, rated power and footprint. The 120 BPH unit runs 2 kW and weighs 195 kg, the 300 BPH unit runs 7.18 kW at 385 kg, and the 450 BPH unit runs 8.0 kW at 686 kg. Bottle size, cap size, air pressure and power supply are identical across the three.

Can the same machine handle 3 gallon bottles?

The standard machine is built for 18.9L (5GAL) barrels at Ф270×490×Ф56 mm with a Ф58×40 mm cap. Running a different barrel size means changing the bottle guides and capping head, so tell us the bottle dimensions before the order is placed.

Why does the machine stop when air pressure drops?

Below 0.5 MPa the capping heads cannot press the cap on squarely, so barrels leave with a weak seal and leak later in transit. The machine stops rather than producing caps that will fail in the field.

How many operators does the machine need?

At 120 BPH, two to three people per shift cover loading, unloading and monitoring. At 450 BPH, three to five people handle the same tasks at a higher rate. The machine itself runs automatically once the bottle is loaded.

Does it need a water treatment system?

Yes. The filling machine handles the bottle, not the water. Send your water source and target volume and we will size a reverse osmosis system against the hourly demand of your filling machine.
